How to read the blog
Items on the top of the list are items that require immediate attention. They will all be in one colour. Items in the second colour are assignments that are due later, information or items that don't apply to everyone.
Homework
Students should be doing an average of an hour of homework five times a week. Most of this work will consist of finishing work assigned in class, including projects, and the rest is made up of independent study, organization and review (for example times tables).
Reading
Students are expected to read independently a minimum of 30 minutes a day. Most days students will be given at least fifteen minutes during the school day and are expected to make up the rest of the time at home. When students are finished a book they are expected to come conference with me. Marks are assigned based on the number of pages finished and conferenced in a term.
Responsible Agendas (RAs)
Students who consistently hand in quality work on time and who demonstrate responsible behaviour in class will not have to get their agendas initialed by me at the end of the day. They should still be using the agendas to plan their homework, but more independently. This privilege will be lost if the requirements are not met.
